Optimised tree density

Most farms have 2,500 trees per hectare. GAP77 targets 4,400. Old unproductive trees replaced with improved varieties at correct spacing.

Intercropping with banana

Banana trees provide shade, reduce heat stress, fix nitrogen, and give farmers additional income. They protect coffee from extreme weather.

Composted fertiliser

Cherry pulp composted with EM-1 and calcium carbonate at the washing station, returned to farmers as organic fertiliser. Nothing wasted.

Erosion control

Contour channels and mulching prevent topsoil loss. Pits collect runoff and fertiliser that would otherwise wash off the farm.
